After a gruelling five-day event, Australian Tony Quinn scored overall honours at the 15th Anniversary Dunlop Targa NZ in his Nissan GT-R. This was a fantastic outcome with a margin of 5 minutes and 35 seconds followed by Clark Proctor and Jason Gill.
Tony experienced some minor delays initially as his times faltered, “the ‘Computer’ was the issue“said co-driver Naomi Tilett. The Nissan GT-R was deceiving – four large exhausts out the back and little noise with incredible acceleration from point to point.
This special 15th Anniversary Week of the Dunlop Targa 2009 brought the teams from Auckland, across the North Island of New Zealand, all the way down to Wellington. The weather conditions were wintery with mostly wet & snow filled days. Wellington however turned on a cracker of a day for the last leg.
Tony has a short reprieve until the next event, the “Classic Adelaide” which kicks off on the 18th November & runs to the 22nd November.
