It was another podium finish for Team VIP Petfoods at Round 6 of the Wright Patton Shakespeare Carrera Cup, with Craig Baird maintaining pole position on the overall leader board, as the 2006 season races to a close.
After qualifying third, Craig spent Race 1 and 2 trailing rivals Alex Davison and David Reynolds, before Race 3 saw him comfortably taking 2nd position, ahead of Bathurst veteran Jim Richards.
Despite finishing the round in overall third place, Craig managed to stretch his lead in the overall standings to 185 points ahead of Davison, who is 76 points ahead of Reynolds in third. Klark remains 13th in the championship standings, on 210 points.
With two rounds remaining in the Wright Patton Shakespeare Carrera Cup for 2006, Tony is trailing Rodney Jane by 108 points in the TAG Huer Carrera Challenge, with reigning TAG Heuer champion Dean Grant a further 48 points behind in third.
For Team VIP Petfoods, round seven of the Wright Patton Shakespeare Carrera Cup on the Gold Coast from October 19-22 is shaping up to be an exciting event, with the promise of a great end to an already thrilling season.
