Team V.I.P Petfoods remains top of the grid after yet another top 2 finish from competition leader Craig Baird, during Round 4 of the 2006 Wright Patton Shakespeare Carrera Cup in Sydney.
After qualifying 4th, the weekend only got better for Craig, finishing a close 2nd in Race 1 to competition rival Alex Davison.
Whilst Oran Park also proved lucky for Team VIP Petfoods driver Tony Quinn, who moved from17th to 12th in Race 1, Race 2 saw a disappointed Klark Quinn faced with mechanical troubles that took him out of the weekends proceedings.
Despite the team’s misfortune, Craig returned to his usual form in Race 2, finishing in 1st position.
Race 3 saw Alex Davison snatch the lead back from team VIP Petfoods, with Craig holding off to place 2nd, after a tight challenge from fellow competitor David Russell.
Craig’s Top 2 finish secures his place atop the championship standings, sitting comfortably at 696 points, 137 in front of second placed Davison.
Team VIP Petfoods are now preparing for an exciting Round 5 meet at Bathurst, from October 5-8.
