Awesome performance by team VIP Petfoods at the 2006 Nuremberg Ring 24 hour endurance race in Germany

June 17 saw Team VIP Petfoods achieve the best ever result for an Australian team, finishing 8th overall after making the pilgrimage to compete in the famed Nuremberg Ring 24 hour endurance race in Germany.

Driving in the 24 hour race for Team VIP Petfoods was Craig Baird, Tony Quinn, Klark Quinn and Kevin Bell, who shared in an amazing experience that saw 230 production sports and touring cars from around the world start the race.

Klark qualified brilliantly for the team to enable a starting position of 24th on the grid, and by hour four the team were sitting pretty at 18th, despite required conservative pit stops. By hour 10, Team VIP Petfoods had increased their placing to 14th.

By hour 20, the boys had brought their position to 9th despite two stop go penalties for passing under the yellow flag, finishing in 8th position at hour 24, 60 places ahead of the next best Australian team.

This was the seventh time Kevin had been part of the race, achieving his best ever result and the entire team should be very proud in achieving the best ever result for an Australian team!
