Craig Baird took out three race wins in the Michelin Carrera Cup at the Formula 1 Foster’s Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park in Melbourne to give team VIP Petfoods its second podium finish in a row after Craig’s win at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.
After taking the lead in Race 2 at Albert Park in treacherous wet weather conditions Craig didn’t look back taking the chequered flag three times in a row for races 2, 3 & 4. His performance at the front of the field was a highlight for the team with the lowlight being the damage inflicted on Tony’s car by hitting the wall on the opening lap of race 4 after an incident with Anthony Tratt.
After qualifying in 15th position Klark fought back in each race over the weekend and managed to make his way into the top 10 by race 3. He managed to hold onto this position for race 4 of the weekend but will be looking for a better performance at the next round of the championship at Wakefield Park, Goulburn on the 26-28th of May.
