V.I.P. Petfoods owner Tony Quinn and his son, Klark, are aiming to be leading contenders in the 2011 Australian GT championship. The seven-round national series is for international GT3 cars, which are modified versions of exotic road-going supercars.
Tony and Klark will both drive British cars in this year’s championship: Tony an Aston Martin DBRS9; and Klark a Mosler MT900S.
While Tony has been a regular GT competitor for several years in a variety of cars, this will be Klark’s first full championship campaign after previously contesting only selected rounds due to business commitments.
Both drivers are confident of good showings in 2011.
“This will be our strongest ever Australian GT Championship challenge,” Tony said. “The Aston Martin and Mosler have different characteristics that will suit different circuits, so one car or the other – hopefully both! – should be at the front in every race.”
